Default Aftermarket high-tech Bag Developer (USA-made) wants your wishlist.

Hi folks,
I am a designer of semi-rigid (or semi-soft, if you prefer) bag systems
for several different industries. I work closely with Foarm, Inc. of
Santa Barbara, CA. Foarm's products are designed and made right there in SB.

The basic technology employed is usually referred to as 'EVA Bags' however
Foarm focus on higher-end composites that do NOT contain Vinyl.
The result is that we can create bags, holsters, cases and bins that are
both structural AND yet compliant, user-friendly and UV/weather resistant.

It is also practical to offer this technology with knife-proof materials
and lockable access for un-attended Segs.

In case you were wondering WHY there seem to be no aftermarket
bag options custom-designed for Segway applications, it is because the
Segway market for bag systems is too small to attract Chinese mfgs.
Chinese manufacturers have minimums that make custom designs for
Segway models unprofitable for them. - But not for us. We can do
moderate volumes of bags very efficiently in the US.

I have started a file for Segway owner comments regarding bag systems
and I would like to extend an invitation for comments on the subject.
Comments should be made through this forum exclusively to ensure
that the ideas or suggestions expressed are not considered proprietary.

I can't promise I'll develop aftermarket bag systems for this application
but that will depend substantially upon YOUR feedback and the percieved need.
Best Regards.
Jeff Krause
My page count is under 5 (newbie) so for now just search google for:
Custom EVA Bags (exact phrase) if you want to research Foarm or myself.

Sorry,
The correct phrase is
Custom EVA Cases

(We do not consider them 'bags' because our technology
results in structural products, unlike what normally comes to mind w/ 'bags'.

I don't understand why the OP couldn't have just typed www.foarm.com. However, being that I'm in Camarillo I would love to come check out bags some time.

Hi Jeff,

I would love to see a prettier bag than the currently offered bags by Inc.

I have custom painted my Segway, a black or white bag won't look good on it.

I also would like something that simply doesn't look that big/bulky, but still has some good storage space.

I was thinking similarly to Florin, I don't mind Black, but do not think that the current bags match my need or the segway...

For the handlebar bag, I would want a smaller, deeper bag, that more closely hugged the leansteer. Something tall and narrow, perhaps that had some small side access points. (About the size of a 2 or 3 litre bottle)

For the side bags, I like the idea of a bag that resembles the cargo platform. Something fairly flat, that does not extend beyond the wheel, but not nearly so tall as the current bag. If the floor of the bag were the size of the platform, but the bag was only 6 or 8 inches tall, it would be fine for tools, and some supplies, or even a water bottle on it's side, but it would not enlarge the footprint of the segway as the current ones seem to do, at least in my mind's eye.

Something that could securely carry my 17" laptop without extending beyond the side boundaries of the wheels. Preferably with a suspension...

I could glide along behind you, and I would be glad to do it. Just let me know where and when...

Cool! My first entourage!

Would you be packing heat? Or just make it appear like you are? Those funny earpieces you only see on security types?

Will you deal with officious types as well? Keep the public and paparazzi at bay?

Wearing black, including hat, definitely qualifies you.

I hope this doesn't mean I have to start "singing" hip-hop.

So the deal is, first we have to get famous. Then we figure some way to get rich off our fame.
