Default Very Nice....

Very nice....
What did you use the paint the leansteer?
Did you strip off all the paint?
We have 6 white leansteers that badly need to be repainted..
Any ideas would be great...

I stripped off all the old paint with a wire wheel.

Coated it with vinegar and let it set. (This is supposed to help the primer adhere to the aluminum.)

Scrubed it down and let it dry.

I primed and sanded with automotive primer.

Then spray painted with Krylon Flourescent green (3 coats)

Applied the decals.

Applied 3 coats of clear coat.

I am very happy with the results.

It looks very nice. We'll check back in a year to see how it holds up. I bet it's going to at least fare better than the white factory jobs!

I'm very glad I got black, for the durability. It'll never look as nice as yours does right now, but it'll never look as bad as some I've seen.

Obviously, we can't have infinite voltage, or the universe would tear itself to shreds, and we wouldn't be discussing Segways.

Yeah, I'm pretty hard on my Segway and this is the second paint job but I enjoy doing it. Gives me something to do in the winter.

Ah, yes, winter -- I remember those. Yes, sitting around watching the paint dry is definitely a couple steps up from the winter doldrums!

Anyway, it sounds like you have fun on both ends of the deal -- painting it, and then messing it up again!

@Mamrax:
Nice job, paint looks great. I would personally prefer to have the electronics and the batteries hidden from sight, but I don't know how big they are in your case, so it might be that you can't hide them.

@emrnyc:
Why don't you powder-coat them? I understood that powder coating is much stronger than paint.
