I'm with Bob. I want my Segway battery to do one thing and do it exceptionally well: Keep the CU boards powered in the most diverse conditions possible. Now, a mod kit to store batteries in the LS along with integrated ports...

Ooh, yes! Rechargable. Or simply easily attached to the LS and not interfering with the bag or handlebar.

Obviously, we can't have infinite voltage, or the universe would tear itself to shreds, and we wouldn't be discussing Segways.

Yes I did. I would not want 9000 AH in my pocket!

Thanks for the correction!

If you did have it, you would be the "Deep Pockets" guy that everyone wants to sue.

The iWay packs may eventually be proven to be fully compatible and as rugged as the factory originals, but their current incompatibility with i180s indicates that the reverse-engineering process isn't quite complete.

Even if the improved range claimed for the iWay packs can be demonstrated, and rigorous safety testing documented, I'd rather spend the extra ~5% to get factory-endorsed packs. My Segway batteries haven't shown a decrease in range after 11,000 miles. It will take several years before the comparable lifetime of the iWay packs can be evaluated to my satisfaction.

Although I dislike watching Segway's prices continually rise, if my batteries actually do need replacing someday, I'll buy them from the company that designed them in the first place - especially if iWay decides to add USB ports and other nonsense to theirs.

Yeah, but I'd bet those 11,000 miles were on the back of a car!

I'm just in the process of having to replace both of my batteries and the iway caught my eye, love the price but concerned that they aren't true Segway batteries, nothing like face planting at 20km.

Has anyone tried these on a i2, in NZ the batteries are about $4k for a pair?

I must say I'm not concerned about the battery side of the pack but more the controller board as a lot of the smarts and things that can go wrong are in that.
