TORQWAY Made in Poland
Hi Guys,
Have You saw the polish product base named TorqWay ? In the right side of website there is language chose form polish to english version. www.torqway.pl "(...) The manually powered vehicle named TORQWAY, was designed to combine sports and leisure functions. Additionally, it may also be used as a rehabilitation vehicle. The innovativeness of TORQWAY arises from the special drive that sets the vehicle in motion. The swinging movement of the lever is converted into the one-way rotary motion of the driving wheel axels. This means that each movement of the user’s arms – forward and backward – is productive and powers the vehicle. The basic version of TORQWAY is powered only by the movement of its user – there are no additional driving mechanisms in the vehicle. This smart solution indicates the ecological character of the vehicle, which meets all the criteria of healthy lifestyle and environmental protection. Manually powered TORQWAY will be offered in a few versions (look for “PRODUCTS”). In the near future, it will be launched another hybrid version of the vehicle, where the back wheels are equipped with electric power, as a support for manual power. This solution enables using TORQWAY in more demanding terrain conditions. Moreover, it is also being prepared the version of electric vehicle, where the lever movement drives the generators. As a consequence, it will provide unlimited usage of the driving power, because the only limit is the users’ body efficiency, not the batteries capacity. The manually powered vehicle may become a perfect alternative for people that would like to burn the calories (about 400 kcal/h) in a different way than exercising in fitness clubs. TORQWAY is an appropriate vehicle to be used in shopping centers, airports, parks, cycle lanes and city centers. click to watch promo clip (...) " |

It's a Rad2Go that you have to push yourself. Amazing!

Rear casters seem to be hard plastic and small diameter. Seems problematic to me. Also, speed seems set to 12 or 6 Kmh, which is pretty slow. It is okay for the shopping mall, but on the street it would be better to walk.
Of course, for people with bad knees, as an example, this may be okay. (But with the hard plastic casters, I have to wonder about the ride quality). And, as with all non-stabilized platforms of this type, I have to wonder about stopping on a down grade...
