1,000 Miles
The Planet Express Jr. just recently rolled over its odometer to the thousand-mile mark. I watched it with glee, thinking about how Mr. InfoKey would start winking at me.
Well, something weird happened. It didn't start winking, and instead the odometer rolled over but the first digit now has every segment of the number lit up all at once, creating sort of an "asterisk in a circle" type of image. Does this mean something? Thank you. |

I thought it rolled over at 10,000 not 1,000?

Yes, 10,000. As there are only 4 digits.

My bad, but I still don't really understand what the first digit means. I guess I just have to go ride another 9,000 miles.
Let me rephrase the question: When I reached 1,000 miles, the first digit of the odometer of my InfoKey suddenly started turning on all segments, creating a strange sort of symbol. Does this mean something? |

Tried changing the info key batt?
Congratulations! 100 miles is a long way to go, only 896 miles to go on mine. |

Okay, this is getting weird. I just tried a different InfoKey, and the odometer came up as 218.7 miles.

Glad I could help you solve that other problem.
But seriously, which is likely the "correct" mileage? |

D'oh! I was looking at the trip odometer on the second key. It actually says 1009 miles (displayed correctly without the strange symbol). So I guess that answers the mileage question, but that still doesn't exactly solve the original question.

If one key displays "all segments" and the other key displays a 1, then there is an internal problem in the key that's not displaying correctly. Either a fault in the display or a bad connection. There is probably no practical way to fix that. |
