Default i2 Trim Cover Spring Resetting?

Hey guys. I know this is a simple question but how do you reset the spring on the trim cover/battery port cover? Mine popped off and now I can't seem to figure out how to put it back together for the life of me. A closeup photo of the spring/door area in the open position may be all I need. Thanks!

If the spring is loose, most likely you broke the little piece of plastic.

I have been using velcro for years.

There are two different versions. The pix in this post are both v2 styles (one is modified to fit a v1 machine).

Default Butt Plug Problems

I've honestly had plenty of problems with various Segway 'modesty' / power plug. This has been the case for i2, i2SE, p133, and RMP. My i2 has been going commando for 5 years w/o any issues of which 4 were daily use even in the occasional LA rain and foam party. I don't use my p133 outside so I can't comment on it. The SE and RMP have onlly been naked in two or 3 downpoars but has had a drink or 2 spilled on that area without consequence.

MI is definitely a wetter place than WeHo, but the weather and setting here are generally more conducive to constant outdoor use. I don't know your use case, so I can't reasonably know how much exposure to dust and water you encounter.

Bottom line, I've found the part to be mostly aesthetic and the butt of endless jokes (pun intended). It's pretty easy to attach. Just make sure the flat parts of the spring are lined up while attaching the cover. I use needlenose pliers. You line up the flap by removing the hole cover piece and attaching it from behind.

One last thing. If the receptical gets wet while unprotected, dry it with a clean rag before plugging it in just to be safe.
