20,000+ miles

The i2/x2 odometer is four digits. When it rolls over 9999 miles, the smily face in balance mode winks to indicate that you should add 10,000 to the odometer.

Does anyone know what, if any, indicator tells you that the mileage is over 19999 miles?

We actually asked the techs at INC and they didn't know!

At the first Segwayfest, one of the design engineers commented that the machine was designed for 5000 miles, but would probably last over 10,000. That must have seemed like a lot at the time. If that was the expectation, many are exceeding it, but there might not be any change in the display at 20,000. What could that change be anyway - a different wink rate?
