Hello folks, I have been ghosting this forum for several months and have educated myself on my I2 from your posts. Thank you for that.

I'm having some problems with my seg and could not find any threads that delt with my type of problems. So i thought maybe post my own thread to illicit any ideas or thoughts.
My seg is 2 years old and has 450 miles on it. It has always ran perfect. I took it to Gatlinburg Tn last week and rode it on very steep uphill climbs as well as back down steep inclines. Now it operates like I am descending down all the time. As I mount the seg and start gliding it will not allow me to increase speed. The handle bars pull back as I try to speed up. It does this in turtle mode as well as high speed mode.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I replaced the infokey battery, seg infokey reports my batteries are fully charged on the seg. Scratching my head.

I2 or I2 SE?

It sounds like you may need to get an authorized dealer to look at it - I have no idea what the cause could be or what you would need to do to correct this problem

But . . . . we did spend 3 days gliding all around Gatlinburg the first week of November - What a great place to ride! So sad to see all the fire damage there from the recent forest fires. The leaves were just starting to fall when we were there and the colors were incredible!

Are you getting the 'neutral face' on the infokey when the seg pushes back?

Try putting the machine in riderless balance mode and leaning it against the wall until the batteries wear down and the seg shuts down. Then recharge the machine and see if it then operates normally.

Also, you could try swapping the batteries front to back and back to front.

I'll try the changing battery trick. Authorized segway repair businesses are far to expensive for my budget this close to Christmas. Lol.

My infokey face stays smiling, no neutral face. This leads to believe I might have a problem with the gyro system. Ouch!
Don, we spent 10 days around Gatlinburg just before the fires. Truly beautiful area to glide. Hopefully I can get my machine to operating correctly again soon.
Thank you to everyone who responded.

I know you said "It does this in turtle mode as well as high speed mode. "

But it almost sounds like it's stuck in turtle mode.

You could try the instructions on Page 31 of the manual, to make sure the turtle mode can be properly turned off.

Check to make sure the speed limiter didn't get set to some low value.

I'll check the speed limiter tomorrow. I didn't think to check that.

How would I check to see if it's stuck in turtle mode? I know the turtle image goes out after pressing the key. The infokey face stays happy in both modes. I am pretty new to segway.

Bernie, you called it perfectly! My speed limiter was set down to 3.5. I never play with my infokey so I'm thinking it got bumped during transit in the bag.

Thanks for all of you folks help. I'm back gliding again!
