Default Rebuilt Segway P133 rebuilt batteries

Fellow Segway-ers,
Question; I had MTO rebuild a pair of P133 batteries for me about 14 months ago. I have 4 P's and I haven't mounted the newly rebuilt batteries on one of my machines yet. They're still in the box from Jason. Any advice on what I should do to see if they're still good?

Smile Charge regularly

Follow the manufacturers instructions.

In the event that there are no instructions, then I venture to suggest;

Charge once a month ( if fitted to a machine ).
Charge every second month ( if stored off a machine ).

If you wish to be really safe, halve those times.

Are you storing them in chilled storage?

After that period of time I would venture to say they are over discharged but once installed on the machine should charge after a potentially extended period of flashing at the beginning. My expectation is that the first time you use these batteries you may be forced into reduced performance until you cycle them through a good full discharge and then recharge them. During that initial ride I would not recommend aggressive riding or use in areas which require riding uphill. They should be fine just know that it may (or may not) take 1-2 of these break-in procedures to get the batteries working normally again. Happy Gliding!!
