2006 i2 Custom with lots of history
I find that I do not use my segway hardly at all anymore.
I like it as I always did, but most of my segway relationships have faded over the years, and I find that I rarely use my segway anymore. I have to make up reasons to get on it, and have not decided what to do about it... This particular segway was purchased by me and I think it finally safe to say, before they were available for sale. When the i2 was introduced in September of 2006, there were a limited number of them available, so prior to the introduction, and the Times magazine article that launched that model, the existing dealers were sent a demo unit to have on site at the time of the launch. That was it, one machine per dealer until they officially went on sale. I knew many dealers at that time, and knew one that had two separate dealerships. This friend and dealer was willing to sell me one of his demo units and I got it the week before they went on sale. It was fun knowing that I could not glide in public knowing that there was a possibility that I might be sighted prior to the launch... So, this unit is the unit I have now, 10 years later. It still works great. Batteries are newer than 10, but still not new. I have made mods, and I encourage you to check out the dozens of pics on my photo forum. I have custom wheels, tires and fenders on the unit, but also have brand new fenders and wheels, and original tires that would go with the sale, if someone were interested and wanted this piece of history. Anyone interested, send me a note
