I2 Hubcaps Falling Off
Had this happen a couple times already. Think I've found a cheaper solution than new hubcaps
The problem is the 4 little crossed pins which hold them on get permanently bent inward toward the center, so they have no spring left to hold them on. I solved this by cutting a short piece of the insulation from an ordinary household extension cord and putting it in the void in the center of the 4 pins Cut a short length of the cord wire. Split the pair so you're only working with a single wire. Strip a length of the insulation off the wire and then cut it to length so that it's a bit shorter than the void between the 4 pins - You don't want the insulation up so high that it interferes with the 4 pins squeezing together when you put the hubcap on the wheel. !/2 inch or so worked best for me The insulation forces the pins back apart about like they were when the cap was new and the hubcap will require a firmer push when you go to install it on the wheel - It will also be a little harder to take it back off when you need to, but it will come off . . . . it just won't fall off as easily as it used to Hope this helps someone else - Sure worked for me!
