If you purchased from a dealer you're registered.

Register third party.
I purchased one older Segway, i-170, from Craigs list in December of 2008. The seller had the original invoice. On it I had him write: Sold to:_______
Date:________ Signature:________ Sellers telephone #____________ Sellers permanent address:__________ Sellers DL#___________________ Since the seller realized that there is a "black market" for stolen Segways he was extremely cooperative in giving me this information and even had his 22-year-old daughter (home from college) witness the transaction. While I was there I called Segway to inform them that I was buying the unit (partially to make sure that I was buying from the "real owner") and I asked the seller to inform INC. from my phone that I had indeed bought and paid for the i-170. Secretary answering the phone indicated that she would change the records (we were already in their database with other Segways). I followed up with a copy to INC. USPS and an email copy to INC. Several weeks later I called with the Serial Number to make sure that INC. had made the changes. All went very smoothly. |

INC stands for Segway Incorporated. Segway used to be a Limited Liability Corporation or LLC, many of the posts from years gone by used LLC. It just saves us from typing and differentiates between the machine and the company that makes the machine.

Is it normal to not get a response when you send registration info? I sent e-mail to INC for an eBay transaction, including the proof of purchase, and explained that I wanted to register ownership. I never heard back. I know I could call them to check, but are you supposed to get any sort of confirmation?
