I have a modified wheel chair lift (a home made knock off of the SEGVATOR) I do not leave home with out it. The convenience of the SEGVATOR type lifts are hard to beat. One thing, you do need a bigger vehicle like Bob said it put a lot of weight aft.

I am now having my 4Freedom GlidR modified to be lifted by the Excel lift I have installed in my Dodge Caravan. This lift has worked well for me with my other powerchairs(Which weigh up to ~300lbs. I'll keep you posted about how well the Excel lift works with my Segway once I get them back from the shop. I'm hopeful that the lift-bracket fitted to my Segway will also work as a hitch to attach my tennis-chair trailer.
