squeeky tires
Just a tip, obvious to me now, but good thing to remember. Its winter out, and I glide into work in the fancy office building with the shiny tile floor. Its frequently wet, and my Segway was making a loud noise from the tires if I rotated to quickly or made a short radius turn. I had just assumed it was because the tires were wet, or perhaps the floor was sticky. However, this weekend, I noticed my tires were a bit low on air, so I topped them off and the noise is gone. It makes perfect sense to me. With lower pressure, you had more surface area of rubber that was getting scrapped against the floor when you rotate. Now with nice full tires, it rotates noiselessly, whether wet or dry. And since it's colder out, the tire pressure would drop some so its not surprising they were a bit low. So if you hear some scrape noises of tire or squeeks when you rotate, check your tire pressure.

Good note.
One thing to consider, and I wonder if anyone has found this to be helpful, a softer tire will often have a bit more grip. That is why the X series uses less air pressure. It is also the reason the tires squeak on the wet tile. It could also be the difference between slipping and sliding on the wet and partially snowy or icy pavement and not slipping.
