"Moreover, residents note the lack of safety due to stopping distances, tipping or potential falls, which have been regularly documented with the devices. These safety concerns, combined with inexperienced/ first time users and the general mountainous topography of Park City may lead to safety issues and/or traffic impacts in certain areas of town," the report says,

"regularly documented"?? Could we see the documents please?!

If you are filing an ADA complaint, the burden of proof will be on them......
Might be one way to force municipalities and others to document Their research befor making decisions. Speak up before your town makes that ruling!

Default I agree

I used to live in Utah and I am an experienced Segway rider of many years, I do not think I would attempt to use a Segway in Park city. It has bumpy steep hills and is always packed with pedestrians. I am comfortable almost any where on my machine. Park City would be better off with out them.

Cannot disagree with you, JR - never been to Park City. But I agree with Lily that when a city council cites "regularly documented" mishaps with Segway's as one of the reasons for not allowing them they need to be challenged to produce those documents.

How were the documents produced? Who produced them? Where did the mishaps take place? What studies have been done to differentiate between rider error and terrain? What was the severity of the mishap? Was the municipality financially culpable in any of the mishaps?

These (and probably many more) are very valid questions when an elected board states that Segway's will not be allowed due to the "regularly documented" problems that the use of Segway's cause.
