Everyone has the ability to read a thread from start to finish. You seem to forget this. Nothing was taken out of context or criticized. Chill out, friend.

I'm cool. Thanks for the advice. Friends, we are not, but thanks.

Most people have abilities they do not exercise. I know I do. (Not to mention my seeming inability to exercise, but that is a different topic)

Smile Same problem - Same solution - WORKED!

I too got the RED LIGHT charging problem with an old battery I had that got red after I completely drained out the battery by having it on until self shut-off. (Unintentionally.) Voltage was 5.7 and the other was 74-ish.

I followed dale's advice. I bought a 0-60V digital controlled Power supply unit at ebay for 73USD, this one:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Precision-Co...item20eb7561b8

Then I charged the battery with max voltage for the PSU, 63.6V on the meter with 100mA. It took about 60 seconds to reach 50V and then I let it go for another 10 minutes, it reached 54V and then I unplugged it from the PSU and attached it to the Segway - which started to charge the battery immediately and now - 10 hours after - It is fully charged!

Thanks Dale!

You are quite welcome. But for future readers - I know that this method works some times, and I'm well aware that it's a small percentage of the time. So, if you have the equipment and knowledge, it's a good first try.
