Intermittent
Hi
This sure sounds like an intermittent fault. It is likely to be a loose contact or damaged wire within the Segway. These types of errors are hard to find, and hard to know that you have fixed. I have a few ideas. Send me a message, if you wish, via www.dgbint.com Michael |

Upon re-reading, I see that I wasn't entirely clear. If the only indication is that the link signal icon is not displayed, then:
The first thing that I would try is either: 1. Use the other InfoKey; or if that isn't available then 2. Replace the Infokey battery (even if it was just replaced a month ago). |

I still think it is a sensor fault.

It could well be. Or a battery problem. I'm just going by what Tritium says he observed. And he hasn't said what the InfoKey battery display looks like (so I'm assuming it's OK), nor what "face" is displayed. Another important symptom is that there is no "Safety Shutdown" taking place.
The absence of the link signal icon indicates that the InfoKey and the Segway are not communicating (at that time). That could be something to do with the Segway (transmitter or battery power or something else). Or with the receiver (battery power defective InfoKey or distance). Tritium has ruled out distance as a consideration. I can't think why a sensor fault would cause the missing link signal icon, but of course it's possible. [Out of curiosity, what sensor fault do you think it is?] But eliminating the InfoKey as a problem cause is the easiest thing to try. Last edited by dale@thecoys.net; 03-06-2015 at 01:46 PM.. |

It sounds like some of the components of the BSA aren't returning consistent values. When the seg detects this, it slows down until the condition goes away / values are within good threshold.

If you choose to limit your speed that is fine, or you can just glide somewhere around there. The exact speed is not critical it just should be a lower speed.

Might be humidity affecting one of the output of the level sensor (total of 2) and system fall into safe mode for few seconds until both sensors return the values within the torrence limit.
Try to dry the BSA and use contact spray to clean all contacts on both main board at the same time. Sent from my iPhone 6 using Tapatalk |

Another possibility is few cells within the battery might have irregular output (weak or unbalanced cells) BMS sends out safety signal to limit Segway into limp mode for a while.
Try follow MTO's suggestion to run the battery down to 50% and recharge in full overnight. Or use a electronic load to discharge at 2A till SOC is around 50% then recharge overnight. Sent from my iPhone 6 using Tapatalk |

By the way, please calculate the discharge wattage accordingly P= I x 82.8V, don't overload the electronic load.
