On a related note, Ford announced e-bikes at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. They are intended to be integrated in some way with Ford vehicles, so that an owner could switch from automobile to e-bike when needed, such as entering a city center which limits automobiles.

There are two models, one of which is allegedly designed by Ford itself, and they already have a working app on iPhone 6 that allows one to plan a trip by using a combination of automobile, e-bike, and e-bike-friendly public transportation.

To me, this reeks of the same vaporware marketing aroma as GM/Segway's PUMA, although it is a much more viable idea.
