Nice concept, but can the battery be removed for indoor charging without pulling off the entire rear wheel?

Default cool indeed

Very nice indeed

this clip has a little BBC newreel, shows the unit being plugged in via an extension lead while insitu. Making a removeable battery would probable make balancing the device nigh on impossible. Shame, reduces the ease of recharging.

With quick release it isn't too hard to remove a back wheel, but you have to get involved with the oily chain.

Most e-bikes with a rear wheel motors don't have quick releases. The pics and videos of the Copenhagen all appear to be bolted (bring along a hefty 8mm wrench). The solution to the oily chain is a Gates belt drive, but I don't see that as a option, yet.

The e-bike that Segway should have made:

Fifields top of the line Chatham. Gates belt drive and 11 speed sealed internal geared hub. Clean and almost maintenance free. Hydraulic disc brakes. 400 watts. And the frame is hand made here in NH by master frame builder Ted Wojcik. Not cheap. Worthy of the Segway name.
