Default first generation battery question

I have an I-167 that I got used a number of years ago. It was outfitted with a rebuilt set of Lithium batteries. Obviously the software has been updated, my question is will my Segway operate with the original nickel batteries or must I stick with the Lithium batteries due to the software update.

No worries.
With updated software, your i167 will run with EITHER a set of NiMH or a set of Li-ion.

You just cannot mix it up, using one of one type with one of the other type at the same time.
