Default Happy owner in London, UK

Hello everyone. I've been reading this forum for a while, but I can now say I am an owner, as I picked up my machine from Gareth on Saturday. I'd like to thank Gareth for taking the time to show me the ropes.

My first glide to work today went without a hitch and I'm looking forward to coming out of turtle mode!

Just the right time of year to acquire an i2 for crusin'. Good to hear from another one in the fold.

It was a pleasure meeting you and your wife.

I'm happy to know my trusty steed went to such a good home. Look after it.

You now need the owner badge adding to your account. Mine has gone.

Let us know how it all pans out and whether it is everything you hoped it would be.

Default Segway use in the UK

I was under the impression that Segways were not legal in the UK. I wanted to take a tour, when last in London to no avail. Can you ride on the sidewalks or what? Used to live in the Suffolk area (Woodbridge, Aldeburgh, Ipswitch, etc.)... loved it.

If anything, the law is now clearer on this matter due to a successful prosecution in 2011. You cannot legally use a Segway PT on the sidewalk/pavement in the UK (unless it is private land and you have the land owner's permission)

Although things have moved on and I think another similar case might result in a different outcome.

Here is the lowdown on the prosecution:

And here is our hope for the future:
