Again thanks. I will load the pictures of the Li-ion and NiMH batteries onto my phone to document the type of battery I have. I will also have a 3mm tool in my bag.

The real question is not whether you can identify the batteries, it is whether the airlines are able to identify the batteries. More than likely, they will use their own documentation, not yours, to make a decision.
Airlines don't have a lot of experience doing this. This will come down to one or two airline representatives at each airport where you wish to embark. Take supporting documentation, and think about Plan B if your Seg is not allowed. |

I know this is probably stupid, but have you considered simply making labels that say "NiMH" and attaching them to your NiMH batteries? I know that doesn't prove anything, but it seems to me that, if you are dealing with people who may be unfamiliar with Segways, it couldn't hurt.
