what causes no initial blinkingno analysis= only goes straight to charge?will this be a problem?

I've never seen that symptom. But my guess is that, if you're using a timer, it wouldn't be a problem.

Here's how I charge and maintain my I2 batteries. If I know I'm going to use it soon, I let it charge right up to 100%. If I don't know when I'm going to use it again, I charge it to between 4 and 6 bars (approximately 50 -70%). Then I have my timer set to only charge 5 to 6 minutes a day. I then check the battery level about once a week to see if it gained or lost charge. If it gained, I'll reduce the "on" time by a minute or 2, if it lost charge, I'll increase the "on" time by an additional minute or 2. The goal is to keep the battery level between 4 and 6 bars. The only drawback, that I know of, to this method is that the I2 is not instantly available with a full charge.

The other thing that I'm unsure of is whether this is in any way detrimental to the built in charger. I hope not.

I have two Mitsubishi iMiEV's with 330 volt, 50 Ah lithium battery packs and Mitsu recommends the same thing - Keep the packs at 30 to 40% SOC whenever possible for longest battery life. We seldom recharge them to 100% unless we're going somewhere we might need a full charge and we try to never let them sit for any length of time with a full charge on the pack

I really like your idea of keeping the Segs charge around half and setting the timer for only a few minutes of charge each day - I'll be implementing that ASAP

Contact a freight forwarder. Not FedEx, UPS, DHL, or USPS. Many freight forwarders will be able to assist you but it will not be a cheap shipment.
