Battery problem

I have a Gen 1 Segway and am having charging problems, My unit is always plugged in; however, only the right charging light ever comes on. After a few weeks the front battery discharges. I switch batteries front to back and the discharged battery now charges up. The left charging light never comes on'
How do I fix this problem?

sounds like a fault with the shaft base charger. it's quite common. check all the wiring. these csb units can be found on ebay...😊
