Charging - Lights?
Hi,
I unplugged my seg today and noticed I had not charged much since yesterday. After a bit, I plugged it in and watched the lights, the were green then went to red, flashes red for a second, and then dissappeared. I looked in the manual and I can't find anything about red lights, does my seg have a battery problem? Thanks -Tanner ---------------- Tanner S. |

Red battery indicators are never a good thing. Has your seg gotten wet? If not, try switching battery positions and see if the red light follows the battery.

Hi Tanner. Red = bad battery. One of the lights has an "F" (front) and one has an "R" (rear). See which light is red and then take both batteries off and put them on in the other position and see if the red light moves to the new location with it. If so, you probably have a defective battery. If you're over this way you could bring it by and we could put on "known good batteries" and make sure.

Hey Tanner, I just noticed red lights on my seg.
It was when I cut the juice to my power strip. The lights blinked green then red and went out. When I turned the power back on, I saw that the seg was no longer accepting a charge. It could be that when you plugged in your seg, you may have had an intermittent connection. I'm betting that to protect the circuitry your seg stopped taking a charge. Try riding for a minute, put the seg in power assist mode, then plug it in. When the seg gets power applied, it should beep, shut off, and start taking a charge. If you continue to get red lights, then you probably have a battery problem. later Dave I love my magic carpet! |

Tanner,
Switching the batteries is a piece of cake. You would have received two allen wrenches with your unit. One for the CS, the other for the batteries. Take out the four (4) allen screws (per battery), pull the batteries, swap their position and, voila! Steven --- EAMUS CATULI! --- No person is truly useless. They may always serve as a bad example! |

Hi! Happy new year!!
The red light also appears when there is intermitent contact (it happens to me when I move the plug right and left to unplug it, and i think there is intermitent contact) Otherwise, I guess that there is a battery problem. Manuel Menzella |

Well, I checked the seg this mourning. Turned it on into Power Assist mode, plugged it in, and all the little alarms go off. I repeated that several times, and checked the lights while it was off. Seems to be working now. It just is green. I'll have to watch it the next few days....
Thanks All! -Tanner ---------------- Tanner S. |
