Lightbulb The Segway Seat Thread!

On another thread I mentioned it might be handy to post links to all the different models of Segway seats (Gen1/2) in one place. I thought I'd give it a quick go. So here is my list. Some are available to buy and others are included for inspiration. I think they all look cool and if anyone wants to send me one for review, feel free!

I don't have ties to any of these sites and the list is in no particular order.

Please add any I have missed out.

I hope this thread can just contain factual links to the various the products and that discussions concerning them will be held on separate threads - but anything goes!

Gareth, once again you provide a great service to the community. Thanks much for your efforts.

There's one or two on that list I wasn't even aware of!

Obviously, we can't have infinite voltage, or the universe would tear itself to shreds, and we wouldn't be discussing Segways.

Default my personal mod "Moof"

normal_DSC03337.JPG

Got bit by the Segway bug 2 years ago and have loved the trials and tribulations of modding my i180 and then my i2 "Moof". (Mother Of one Offs). Not for sale, just proud of my efforts.

I applaud all the above seating systems for their designs and execution. Definitely one size does not fit all so the variety of systems is fantastic.

There's more info at SegSaddle.com - and these are available via your local Segway dealer.

Default Genny Mobility - Italy

It's a pain on this forum that you can't go back and modify an earlier thread beyond a certain point. I'd like to keep all the info together.

Several members (Wallace & rickb in particular) have identified the Genny Mobility Segway Wheelchair and it looks amazing:

While all those conversions are very cool they all share the same failure for use as a true powerchair. The control shaft up front makes it cumbersome to say the least.

There is a one that is a chair, the Ally.
Now if I could just buy one!

Hmmm... I really don't have time to search right now, but I saw material on one recently that moved the leansteer to the side, making sitting down from the front easier. I don't think it was the Ally...

Anyone remember what brand that was?
