Beginning with the i2 / x2, all start-up / shut-down / warning sounds are generated by cycling / vibrating the drive motors.
Whirring proportional to speed is gear noise from the transmissions.

The good news is that the person who left this nasty note finally signed it. Usually, they do this and hide their name. Apparently their name is 'Jerk' as that is how they signed it. I am guessing it is their name. Perhaps it is more of title.
Even so, your remarks indicate political views rather than scientifically valid ones. Climate change has nothing to do with snow days in your neighborhood. It has everything to do that every year is warmer on average than the last one without exception.

Default On a better note to keep the topic alive . . .

Segway Inc. repaired my 9 year old X2, new motor, trans (left side) and numerous other issues for a total cost of $1,500 through my dealer. 45 days later the same issue arose (EO47 - but opposite side). Contacted my dealer and sent the machine back. No additional cost but they replaced the other side (engine/trans).

Now that is service with a smile for a 10,000 mile / 9 year old machine.

Still amazed as it looks like I pretty much got a brand new machine and along with some rebuilt MTO batteries, I'm dancing a jig or two.

Now, that's a Favorite Segway Thing; what's yours?

Default Cold & Rainy to Sunny & Warm (almost) . . .

The last month or so in the NE has been cold, so Sunday at 48F and sunny was a good opportunity to put the Top down for a spirited cruise on the roads and follow it up with a 10 mile glide with Roc; one of my "Favorite Segway Things.

As good as that though, was the past week with Temps in the 20's, choosing the appropriate attire to Glide back and forth to work. Not toasty, but sufficiently warm. Now that's a "Favorite Segway Thing . . ."; choosing the appropriate attire when doing those late night Glides in below freezing temps.

Glide more . . .

Default Battery switch . . .

Anyone switch their batteries, front to back, back to front, on an annual basis. Or do you leave them as is?

Yes! I switch mine. Figured it can't hurt due to the constant small drain on the rear battery.

I used to have a battery like that on my i2. Plugging it in when the machine was in security mode avoided the red light.
