I believe that what people are debating is if you can use LiIon batteries to swap onto your segway to test to be sure the problem is in your batteries, and not something with your segway itself.

I thought that v12 software can use LiIon batteries or NiMH batteries. So, if you want to swap batteries to test your segway, you can use LiIon batteries to check your segway, but you will need to find a gen one machine to test your batteries on it...

Hello,

If you want to send the rebuilds in to us I would gladly thoroughly test them for you at no charge. If you send them in please reference your original order number so we can easily identify and link it to your original order.

Ah, thanks, I understand now. Unfortunately, I don't know of any gen 1 machines near me.

I just want to wrap up this thread by documenting the solution. It was a problem with the battery. I sent them back to MTO and they did some testing and determined that it was a failure of the BMS (Battery Management System) in one of the packs. Even though the batteries were out of warranty, MTO gave me a significant discount on the replacement work. I got the rebuilt packs on Friday and I'm back to using my Segway.

So kudos to MTO, and thanks to everyone for their comments on this case.

Thanks for the follow up Jeff! I'm glad to hear all is working as it should and you are able to enjoy your Segway again!
