X2 on snow..
Well first time ever on snow with my X2.....We got 7 inches and most I've ever seen was a dusting....
It did ok, didn't like the deep stuff or if one wheel spun .....Was different, but with my disability I would never try it to get some where....Looks like it will be all gone by tomorrow and back to the mid 60s on Monday.... Just had to give it a try, who knows when I will ever get snow again? |

Snowed here too, unfortunately the i2's software is a little less lenient when it comes to loss of traction, so it didn't fare the snow as well but still hadn't any problems with getting up a steep hill and back down again.

Ride in the snow . . .
Ride in the snow occasionally. Have little difficulty IF one is careful and watches for the ice. ICE and WET Snow are the most difficult situations (just fallen fluffy snow is easy) as one or the other wheels will start spinning and may result in loss of position.
The other difficulty presented is that snow can build up under the platform and, if that occurs, traction can be lost as the Seg becomes elevated and loses traction. Snow Glidin' can be fun, it just is more difficult as it requires more operator input and care; spills are more likely. So Beware. The only other consideration is how to deal with the various chemicals and ice suppressants that are placed on roadways by the municipality. I am unsure what corrosion or other degradation of the Seg can occur in this environment and, as a result, limit my Gliding during the immediate aftermath of snowstorms until most of the chemicals have been washed away. |
