Very ingenious! Does it work? Do you leave it in once tightened? Will it stay in place while gliding, or is it a tool you use to install, then remove?
Please give us the details, and costs, etc.

I just made it a few hours ago. It does work. I may need to refine some tolerances for fit as I had to do some slight sanding. It stays in in place while gliding that's why it is a failsafe. It can't physically back out unless the LSF cover comes off. It was 3d modeled by me and was prototyped on a 3D printer using ABS plastic. I don't have arrangements to sell them just yet, but if the interest is there; I can "mass" produce them on the 3d printer. Once I determine that my design works and will hold up I can probably sell them for $10 - $15. |

That looks like a neat way to keep the LSF from coming loose. Anyone who's had that happen while gliding will definitely want one.
But I wonder if the tongue on the pivot base is narrower than the slot in the LSF hole because some adjustment is necessary from unit to unit? In other words, if the tongue is centered in the slot, which it will be with your device installed, will all i2s track straight when the LSF is vertical? If the amount of adjustment they provided is just to allow for an infrequent worst-case unit, then I wouldn't mind having to lean very slightly to go straight, knowing my LSF couldn't possibly come loose. I checked mine, and the tongue is perfectly centered in the slot, so put me down for one if you go into production.

My design will have to leave some amount of tolerance for it to fit in all machines, but it will greatly reduce the amount of rotational slop in the LSF. I will keep you guys informed and thanks for the interest! Bradley |

My LSF has never been straight but i'm afraid to readjust it beacause the bolt's head is a little stripped.

I lean to the (far) right, so I've adjusted my leansteer accordingly.
It looks like a great device though. I'll buy one!
