"Then I put my weight on my toes like I had many times before and the Segway turned-off. I feel it malfunctioned. The orginial software did not give a stick shake or record the battery voltage. But Segway still says: 'In your case, the event logs show that no rider detect was active at the time the shut-off (because of forward pitch exceeded) occurred" The Event Log states 0 rider detects active. Sounds like he was riding aggressivly and put his toes up on the front edge of the platform, not staying on the rider detects. The machine shut off.

Every once in a while, I see the same "story" written over and over again on an eBay auction. I'm guessing it's the same fraudster, or a copycat.
If the machine did something like that--and it certainly shouldn't with all its built-in redundancy--you'd think someone wouldn't use that as a sales point in their auction! Chris |

He doesn't want to sell it, he simply wants to use EBay as a forum to bash Segway. Why else would he put the price the same as a new one, and then not accept a bid that is his buy it now price?

Same Segway being sold three times!
Here's a Segway that is being sold three times over: Listings all expire in about 13 hours, all advertise a BRAND NEW SEGWAY, but it's an i170! Seller is in the US but the 'Segway' is in London. The listing nos are:170025914131, 200023892918, 290025995093. If you look at the other items offered by each of the three sellers, you come up with the same list of items! All listings on ebay.co.uk.
I have reported this to ebay as it is very fishy.

Fraud

Thanks for bringing these auctions to the attention of Ebay. I'm glad to see someone in the UK actively participating in shutting these fraudlent auctions down quickly. To be honest, I'm surprised that ebay still allows 1 day auctions since most of the fraudsters use this option. Maybe I'm expecting too much, but because of this relationship, Ebay should take extra steps to verify the seller for 1 day auctions. (Stlll, we all know that even the extra steps can be circumvented with more effort on the part of the fraudster.) |

eBay i2 Sale
Does anyone know someone named Joshua Carriere, who would be able to sell a Brand New i2, still sealed in the box? and how he would get this?
eBay had it as being located in Houston, TX, but this person is in Louisiana. thanks, chuck |

Watch out for this one:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...3ARTQ%3AUS%3A1 claims to be in Akron, but is not associated with me. Therefore, and units he had for sale would not be 'New' and would not have a full warranty. Something's fishy with this one!

Resale...
I bet all of these "New XTs" for sale on eBay are people reselling units from the Sam's Club sale. They buy them for $3888 and sell them on eBay for $4xxx... A way to make a few hundred bucks pretty easily. A shady deal or just the free market at work?
