He's a basher
A buyer would have to be pretty foolish or desperate to pay $4000 for a used/abused machine with old software.
Why would he buy new batteries? My guess is he's still using it, and his reserve is probably $3999.95. He probably doesn't want to sell it, he just wants to live in his own delusion, and keep ranting to the rest of the world about it. He must be mellowing out, because he's no longer posting links to pictures of his broken arm. Hopefully he'll get over it, stop annoying the rest of the world with his whining, and sell his seg at a reasonable price. just my .02

It turns out that it costs him somewhere between $40 and $50 to post that listing, if it doesn't sell. That's because of the buy-it-now and reserve price.
I suppose if it's worth that much to do it, then we shouldn't complain. |

12 hours old when I found it

I was a bit surprised to see this auction had gone for 12 hours. Ebay's been pretty good about removing these within hours. |

Scam Spotting Guide.
Quote:
1. Nearly always contact is demanded only through E Mail and specifically not the "ask seller a question" link. 2. They never respond to an E Mail where you/a friend offer to travel to see them with the cash. 3. Usually they will not give you a phone number or take up an offer for them to phone you. 4. Every single one I have contacted where the HT is on offer for only 24 hours (not enough time to check things out) has been a scam. 5. Free delivery (even to me in the UK). Always a scam as of course they will never have to deliver. 6. "Goods will be sent before payment" or "no payment expected until goods despatched" (looks good doesn't it). Then they will ask, upon reciept of an E Mailed delivery document or despatch note (easily concocted), for full payment. 7. "Never used still in box" but machine is a old model and photos are plagarised. Always suspect. 8. "No reserve". Forget it! |

I tried a segway for the first time a few weeks ago and LOVED it.
Now I am thinking of buying one. I have been looking on ebay. But after reading some of the posts in the forum it sounds to risky. I would consider a new one. But, I have also been reading in the forum talk of new models, updates, etc. Should I wait to buy a new unit? Will the i180 be improved? Maybe cheaper? Also. if anyone knows of a good used unit in the Lower Hudson Valley of N.Y. Thanks. . .Happy Gliding |
