I have a question - I have never tried this, and it's not convenient for me to do today.

If you start the Segway, and have a friend ride it away from you - while you are holding the InfoKey - what happens when the Segway gets too far from the InfoKey, and what does the InfoKey display look like?

Info key will eventually loose contact with the radio board, and will then turn itself off.

To then use that key to impact the segway, once they are back close enough, you must first turn on the infokey by hitting the power button on the infokey. It will then light up, and starting with the next key push, it will affect the segway.

At the same time, the segway will not care, and will glide along without the key till it runs out of power, or till it falls over or some such thing.

Of course, you cannot turn it off either, unless you lay it on its side or some such thing. Then you cannot turn it back on till you go get the key.

I have glidden away from the key on more than one occasion. The segway does not care.

Thanks for the extremely complete description.

To be really picky, though, it didn't answer this part of my question:
"what does the InfoKey display look like?" (just before it turns off, of course).

But I do appreciate your answer.

Within the range of Segway

Out of range of Segway just before the remote turn itself off

....and if we hold our breath long enough, perhaps Tritium will tell us what he found.

Apologies for the delay, I've tried riding it for a long while at low speed to no avail, even the last ride I took it happened twice.
I've also drained the batteries to various levels then left charging overnight.

It is extremely dry so no chance of humidity buildup, I don't have a second key to test anymore... (Dropped one)

I will swap the batteries, maybe that will work.

Is the symptom still happening every mile or so? Or more/less frequently?

Please let us know if swapping the batteries helps.
