Segway mini VS Ninebot
I am looking at purchasing the mini pro. Is there a difference between the Segway brand and the Ninebot? does either come with a warranty? amazon dropped the price down to $600 for the Segway on July 12 but I haven't seen it that low since. the Ninebot is around $550 compared to the $700 seg. thoughts? I am using this to ride on golf courses

I don't have any insight on Ninebot directly, but the MiniPro by Segway has 1 year warranty on base, and 180 days warranty on battery and charger.
Segway Golf courses are going to want fat low-pressure tires that leave no impression on fairways and greens. Search for photos of the discontinued Segway Golf, which had "turf-friendly tires" for example. My guess is that courses won't be happy with the skinny MiniPro tires. |

I've been speaking extensively to the Segway MiniPro team out in California. I've been told that the main differences between the Ninebot and the Segway MiniPro are;
1. Construction build. In a nutshell, Segway uses very high quality magnesium alloy and other materials not used on the Ninebot. 2. Motor output. The true output of the ninebot model is lower than the Segway MiniPro. 3. Battery. The battery Wh is higher on the Segway MiniPro. 310Wh. This equates to a 10km range advantage with the MiniPro over the Ninebot. 4. Safety. The Segway MiniPro's battery is UL certified. No fires here. 5. Speed. The Segway MiniPro is slightly faster than the Ninebot. 6. Warranty. Segway obviously will not warranty Ninebot units. I've got 3 MiniPros and I have personally compared it to the Ninebot (which they sell in Ontario). The difference in quality, feel and ride is quite significant. In conclusion, units that are not branded Segway are simply not a Segway product. |
