Tire Pressure
Hi Guys, just got a MiniPro a few days ago and love it!
Have a question for you, I was checking my tire pressures this morning and both were around 20 psi*so I got out the air pump and was getting ready to add air and noticed on the tire sidewall*that it says 30 psi*max. According to my users manual it say's to inflate tires to 45 - 50 psi. So which is it? I have always been told to never exceed*the max psi*as listed on the tire sidewall so I just put in 10 psi to max it out at 30 psi. |

After I received feedback over on the Electric Unicycle Forum I found that it does ride much better with higher tire pressure. When I put between 40 - 50 psi it rides and handles much better but i'm still a little concerned that it will damage the tire at higher pressure than the tire manufacturer recommends but will leave it at 45 psi and see how it does.

45 PSI is 50% over the 30 PSI max rating shown on your tire. Personally, I would never inflate a tire beyond the max rating shown on the sidewall.
Maybe it will be OK. |

Hi Civicsman, I have the same concern as you about over inflating the tire that much, I have contacted Segway but have not heard back from them yet. If they do respond I will post it here.

Received a reply back from Segway Technical Support.
"The recommended tire pressure for the MiniPro is 45-50psi. We’re sorry for the confusion". So I guess they are sticking to what they state in their owners manual and website even when I told them the tire sidewall says 30 psi. |

I suspect that tech support is reading from a manual, rather than making an engineering evaluation.
Maybe its ok, but it would be interesting to get a perspective from the tire manufacturer |

I looked at the tire yesterday and it looks like its manufactured by Chao Yang. The tire also says Ninebot so I did a google search and came up with http://www.chaoyangtire.com and the website says it is down for maintenance until September 8th. If and when the website comes back up I will send them an email but the Chinese tire market is crazy, they have hundreds of tire companies and frequently contract out to have other companies make tires and put their brand on it. |
