I use iButton Copy Machine, along with Florin's segCRC to compute changed CRC codes, etc.
Searching this forum and/or google should provide links to the most recent versions. The hardware I use is DS9097U And I don't know if it will work with Windows 8. In fact, I use it on an old XP computer. |

Yes, it can read the key and give you the code for that key. Then use segCRC to convert the speed, turn rate, etc. (i.e., convert the key) and give you the code for the changed key. Then use that code with copy machine to write the new key. I think that's what I said earlier, but perhaps "baby steps" were needed. |

The battery is definitely there to preserve data. Given that ibuttons are not specific to segways and are used in a lot of other applications, it could simply be the case that the battery is a standard ibutton feature that the segway does not require.

i180 key copy
Hi,
OK this is working under Windows 8 without any problems! I did not copy the keys yet - since I did not get the empty keys yet, but I can read the keys and actually see the 16 HEX "code" of the key for example: F6 00 00 00 3A 47 AA 06 BTW as you can see and I seen in many keys there are a 6 zeros, and I seen this in many keys, so probably many of the owners (I guess) have these 6 zeros - if any one has his key please approve that I am right about this. Also there is more data to copy (few pages) but this is the secret code key R |
