The SE "Support Equipment" designation goes along with my understanding that the new model will be more dealer service friendly, reducing the need for factory repairs.

Since the production of Chigway is bigger then Segway, it's about time for the INC to drop the price and let the local dealers to repair the Segway.
There isn't much parts in a Segway, and doesn't need rocket scientists to work on them. Replacing CU, BSA, Motor, UIC plus a data connection to INC's server to program Segway with marching infokey; most of the dealer will have the ability to carry out the service. I bet the support and service quality will improve dramatically. It had been a long long time to read or heard any praise about the INC's service and support. Please let the changes begin and make the service more affordable and efficient. sent from iPhone Tapatalk APP |

What I meant was that the changes made were pretty minor to an old model. IMO this is a revised model not a new one. It still carries the I2/X2 designation.

Where did the "support equipment" theory come from? I figured SE would just represent "Second Edition"

So they added lights, removed the built-in lock, and apparently haven't addressed the self-discharge issue.

We don't know if a built-in lock (or LSF quick release, kickstand, etc.) will be available until they officially release the machine and list of accessories. Yeah, looks like self-discharge remains. In addition to the aforementioned, the LSF looks like it has been redesigned for reduced weight and easier assembly, eliminating the need to re-center it every time it is re-assembled. It also appears that the new console might be a bit less prone to foot trapping in an accident. |
