Michelin has developed a new airless motorcycle tire that looks interesting and perhaps more design functional for a Segway...........with fun color options too.

Really, the solution is just not to eat so much. Except at Thanksgiving, of course, when eating 30% of your body weight is mandatory.

Seriously, though, I think this is solvable, technically, between having a selection of wheels and designing in a progressive stiffness with load, to widen the acceptable range.

But the small market combined with the additional R&D and the need to stock and distribute a range of tweels makes it impractical, I'm sure.

Still, if we had undersized tweels, we could take a page from your book, Karl, and stack them to get the necessary capacity.

Obviously, we can't have infinite voltage, or the universe would tear itself to shreds, and we wouldn't be discussing Segways.

How sensitive are we talking? I have seen them on cars, yet the car weighs varying amounts by hundreds of pounds based on how much fuel is in the tanks, and how many passengers are inside.
Have you seen them on production cars?

Link to information about the Michelin Airless Motorcycle Tire if any interest. Seems more practical than the Tweel.........or not.

From the article:

"You won't see the Tweel on your sandmobile any time soon because it has noise, vibration, heat and wear problems at highway speeds..."

I hope they solve them!

Here's a quick shot of behind the 'Segway' logo. Four bolts hold the lowest section of the leansteer in place.
