Did you purchase it from Segway southwest in the UK?

Yes. It arrived quite promptly, too.

I received mine pretty quick considering I live in the US.
Like Bob was saying it's good for immediate lighting of the road but even better for others seeing you glide at night. Last edited by dl1955; 12-02-2009 at 04:55 PM.. |

I also bought one of these, and it reached the USA quickly. I have just started using it but so far it is working well.
I have gone through so many flashlights, bike lights, and other failed attempts to get a decent lighting system for my Segway... I'm really hoping this is the one that "sticks." I got a different product that I'm trying to use as a rear light... I might post more info if it works. Segways should really have built-in lighting systems... if/when they come out with a third generation, I hope that is one of their highest priorities in terms of adding new features. |

I hope not. I'd prefer to keep the cost down and keep my options open. What I would like to see in the future are factory lights and accessories that don't have a price tag double that of similar accessories on the market.

I don't own a single coat that came with built in lights. I did have one with a reflective stripe, however...
I believe that factory installed lights is bringing the segway one step closer to being a vehicle, and one step farther from being an empowered pedestrian... I really believe that the factory sees that segways are often confused with being scooters, or other small personal vehicles. I also believe they wish to position the segway farther from there... So... I don't see it happening. I would be happy with a simple power tap that is available. Then all kinds of alternatives could be available and convenient, after market...

A power tap would be awesome. Lots of potential for mods. However I'm not sure I agree with the bit about the factory making it a vehicle. Are there any states that DONT require a light at night?
