I notice it was from 12/01. I'm assuming that's December of 01, before the actual release.

The website which is a repository for all that is the very Segway-unfriendly WalkSF. Whose members were profiled on Morley Safer's 60 minute piece on Kamen and the Segway as sort of a counterpoint. If there ever were misinformed biased folks who were anti-Segway from the get-go it would be them.

It's quite a collection of "propaganda," on that site. Excerpts from articles, cartoons, all billed as "[stuff] Segway doesn't want you to see."

Fear tactics, and lop-sided viewpoints trapped in the 19th century. It's a wonder they tolerate cars on the road, I mean people can get hit by them when crossing the street!

If you want more humor, why not consider the following story:

http://www.walksf.org/pedsting2.html

with the plainclothes police officers gliding on EPAMDs instead of just being on foot!

It seems to me the walksf "sidewalk ban" activities are on the decline. Not too much new stuff (about Segs) on their site.
