midlandsman has only three posts, and is probably still on moderation delay.
So we may not be able to see his response for awhile. In the meantime, due to his previous inquiry: http://www.segwaychat.com/forum/topi...TOPIC_ID=12888 I would hazard a guess that he whishes to check out his charging setup (either generator or inverter) on something other than his present batteries. Or possibly he's damaged something and wants to see if some of the bits can be replaced. Here's a link to someone who tore apart an old pack: http://www.segwaychat.com/forum/topi...TOPIC_ID=10133 (Looks a little challenging, doesn't it?) |

Thanks for the link Bystander, you're right. Although my current batteries are fine, due to the high cost of a new set and being a bloke who is only happy when he has taken things apart to see how they work, I would like to try replacing dead cells in an old pack.So if anybody in UK has recently replaced or upgraded I would pay for the dead set.
Regards. |

This is off the subject but just wondering if they are allowing Segway use in England now. I remember reading a while back on Segway Chat that an old law was still in effect that would not allow their use except on private property. Just wondering???
Thanks Gail |

Unfortunately, Segways are still illegal in the UK. Nothing has changed. But things are afoot... www.legalisesegways.co.uk.
Back on topic, Gaye should now be able to get a free upgrade from Segway UK for the recent recall.

Northern Ireland
For what its worth, if anyone in Northern Ireland has a machine that needs upgrading please send me an email sales@segway.ie
We are helping Wayne in the UK by doing any upgrades in Northern Ireland as it is geographically easier for us. So far I have travelled up North and upgraded 5 units but these are only the ones that I am aware of. There may be more??? The new software upgrade for the recall facilitates the use of Lithium Ions on all units except the p133. Martin www.segway.ie |
