Angry i2 - Red LED at end of charging ?!

What happend ? At the end of each charging cycle one of the charging led blinks green as usual and the other on is steady red.
There is no error message on the key, the batteries display is fully charged and i can ride about 30km (with mointains).
I changed the LiIo-Batteries: front <--> back and the red LED changed too.
So it seems to be a battery problem. But I didn't empty the batteries totally and the i2 is only 15-month old ?

Any ideas about the technical background of this problem ?

Default red light

Your battery should die in near future. It always happens like this. But until the segway works fine don't worry.

Default Known Batterey problem...

The battery that is turning red has a problem with its firmware. When it gets to full charge it thinks that the battery voltage is to high. Segway is aware of the problem. Check with your dealer there is a service note on this problem. Otherwise the battery should be fine ..... I have a few with the same issue....

One of my batteries has been doing this for over a year. I accidentally discovered that if I unplug and replug the cord a time or three, it will eventually resolve and go into regular maintenance charge mode. Range and performance seem completely unaffected, so I just continue to use it as it is. A minor inconvenience.

You can "overdrive" the RED alert after the full charge...just leave the segway plugged in ALARM mode.

Good to know, thanks. I'm going to try this next time.
