East Portland, Oregon Sunday Parkways May 12, 2013
I loaned my neighbor my Segway, and she did this glide (and, she bought her own Segway a couple weeks later). Portland closes the streets to all automobile traffic on the route. Many homes along the route offer free drinks and snacks. The Rose City Gliders normally have a decent turnout, so we glide as a group.
"Celebrate Mother's Day with a jaunt around East Portland, including two miles on the Springwater Corridor. Glenwood, Bloomington, Lents, and Ed Benedict Parks will be filled with activities, food, vendors, music, and more. And don't miss the activities at the Johnson Creek Restoration Area." Map here.

There are a total of 5 Sunday Parkways in Portland. Maybe one will be near to where you live. I live in Salem, so for me...I need to take Amcrap to Portland.
