Replacement tires, parts for miniPRO now at Amazon...
I just noticed that Amazon now has replacement parts and an accessory or two for the Segway miniPRO.
https://www.amazon.com/Segway/b/ref=...ode=7879377011 One note on the tires: unlike the full-sized Segways, these tires need to be attached and removed using tire irons (tire levers) and associated lubricant. Last edited by SegwayUtah; 12-05-2016 at 10:33 PM.. |

No i2 tire irons ?
How in the world do you do that . . . replace an i2 tire without tire irons?
Am on my third set of Segway branded tires and each replacement cycle has been an afternoon of bad language, bloody knuckles, and tire irons! I2 Gliding 6-years and 10,200 miles |

SegwayUtah clearly said: "...unlike the full-sized Segways" And MuttonChops clearly understood that. |

This makes no sense at all. I can think of a dozen reasons why it should be separate and if I thought about it for a while, I might be able to come up with why it should be combined. They don't share parts or software. |

Hi MuttonChops,

http://segway-0.shptron.com/p/i2-whe...nt-parts?pp=25 Unless of course Segway is now selling tires for the i2 separately. In any case, the bigger issue is that it's fairly straightforward to remove the wheel from a full-sized Segway (like how one removes a wheel from a car...at which point it's easier to change the mounted tire). But the miniPROs are built more like modern smartphones/tablets and one has to tear them apart to replace anything major. Removing a wheel from a miniPRO is a really involved process (including maybe removing battery, motors, coils, and more)--so the only reasonable option for replacing tires is to tire-lever off the old tire while it's still on the machine. i2 Tires Only
@ Dale@thecoy.net nice defense of my earlier post
@ SegwayUtah While the Segway web-site has only listed a wheel kit (wheel & tire) for many years back in 2011 it was possible to purchase tires only from dealers. At the time I purchases two sets. I assume dealers can still purchase tires only . . . all those tour fleets can't be spending $380/i2 every 4-5K miles on wheel kits. = - = - = - = As for a separate section for miniPro operation/repair. Yes, it is time to separate them from General Discussion area IMHO. 6-years i2 Gliding 10,200 miles |
