You know, I knew there was a reason I don't do that, and when I tried it yesterday just because I'd seen your video, I quickly remembered why.

I think this is a gen-1 vs gen-2 thing.

If you pull it up from behind, and one tire slips (which tends to happen for larger curbs), then it twists the leansteer to worsen, not help, the imbalance. It makes the whole operation unstable.

Better to dismount on the curb, then flip it around, let it roll past you, and then step back on.

I don't think this would affect gen-1s.
