Is this while driving? If so something is increasing the drag on the motors most likely. Things I'd check:
  • Tire pressure - 15 lbs for i2 / 4 lbs for X2
  • Tire/wheel/fender clearance - Remove each wheel and check for wear marks from debris
  • Elastimer couplings - Make sure these are in good shape, no white silicon dust
  • Motors - Swap out one motor at a time with a known good Segway
  • Transmissions - Swap out one transmission at a time with a known good Segway
