battery full analysis

Hi,
I have done many experiments with batteries.
Also opened some of them.
I know how to revive some of them.
Some of them that are sure perfect - but RED LED - I don't know how to revive
Is any one done tests same as me?
Thanks,
Me

Speak to Jason at MTO. He has a great company that rebuilds and repairs and analyses segway batteries. He is the guy who knows as much as there is to know about segway batteries.

There are also a few others on this forum who are very knowledgeable as well. Look around, read the old posts regarding the batteries. There is a lot to learn right on this forum in various older threads about the details inside the batteries.

Hi,
This guy Jason from MTO batteries did not want to talk to me or share any information, any way his loose

MTO is a business, based on proprietary information. They will fix your batteries, if you pay for their service.

I do not understand your complaint.

Virtually all of the logic for the battery system is contained in the printed circuit board (Segway P/N 1001873 or equivalent) that is on top of the 22 cells in the Segway battery.

Hi,
You have 92 cells.
which are parallel and serial
each 4 parallel connected to serial
Except some others :) that are probably to different circuit
The noise that everyone complains is a DC-DC step down voltage

Thanks,
R

Perhaps I should elaborate, for the record:

The PC board within the battery manages "cells" numbered on the board from "Cell 0" to "Cell 22". Therefore, 23 of them (not just 22 as I mis-typed).

Notice that 23 X 4 = 92.

Segway Lithium had been around for appx 9 years now, believe me there's not many experts around in this area, period.

First thing to understand the battery is the I2C can-bus communication which is related to your Red LED issue and ability to read and write the EEPROM to offset the aging cell, as you can adjust the offset to certain degree but never able revived a end of lifespan chemically exhausted cell.

Good luck with your experiments, be safe, remember, the energy it contains is able to travel 40+km with the weigh of you plus the Segway, any short circuit will result in serious consequences.
