What Happens If You Revive a Healthy Battery?

I have two sets of lithium-ion Segway batteries. One set, I foolishly left unplugged for too long, and they stopped working.

I have ordered a reviver rental from MTO, and it is on its way. I understand that a revival isn't the same as a full reconditioning, but what I'm wondering is, since I'm going to have the reviver in my possession anyway, should I run it on my healthy set too, or just the ones that need it?

Would this be good for them, bad for them, or do nothing?

Thanks for any info.

Good question. Please ask Jason, and then post the answer here.

Only revive the non charging battery, revive a good working/charging will not do any good to the battery at all.

I cannot say for sure what Jason's excellent product does.
However I can say with certainty what our product achieves.

Our Battery Super Reviver can revive most ( but not all ) batteries that suffer from either of 2 problems.

PROBLEM 1
Our Battery Reviver can revive batteries that have been uncharged for too long.
These batteries have been locked-out, by design, by Segway.
They may have failed, due to low charge.
Unlocking that lock-out allows the batteries to accept a charge and be tested.
Many will not have failed, and will be OK.
In this case your question about reviving a good battery is akin to asking, if my front door at home is unlocked, what is achieved by unlocking it? The answer is nothing.

PROBLEM 2
Our Battery Reviver can revive batteries where the BMS ( internal control system ) has glitched or suddenly stopped working.
This typically happens during a storm or other brown-out or black-out condition.
This does not appear to be your problem, but again there's nothing to be gained by reviving a good battery.

Cheers and good luck

I don't want to say who has better product but I really can't stand the false statement.

Michael. I can say for sure what your reviver does (I have a unit - DGB reviver) and I have to say very frankly that your reviver will charge Segway's battery at 45 volts DC @ 400ma, that is all your reviver do :)

And believe me, you don't want to claim your above statement nor do you wish to go into the reviving detail because you have NO access to battery's BMS AT ALL :)

I have to speak up because you are replying on a topic "What Happens If You Revive a Healthy Battery?" and the poster clearly state that he is using a MTO product. And I have never seen MTO make such a false statement or claim on this forum.

If SegNerd failed to revive the battery, DGB's unit will not revive the same battery either, period.

Oh Dear.

You have one of our old products, circa 3-5 years old.
On this basis you 'know' about our current product, our Battery Super Reviver ???

Most of your posts are very accurate and informative, but this one is not accurate at all.

Michael,

In your first statement, you called your product your "Battery Super Reviver ".

But in both examples, you called your product your " Battery Reviver ".

I believe you have a current product that is a bit different than your past products, and has some abilities that your previous product did not have.

I do not recall the exact name you used for your product 3 to 5 years ago.

Perhaps there is a confusion of abilities, based on the name of the product being what you called the new product in your posting?

I have strong faith in DGBINT and believe that Amimoto is mistaken.
I hope both can comment soon on this.

Karl

Thanks for your keen eye.
Yes, our current product is our Battery Super Reviver.
Yes, it does have some new features ( data is on our website )

Sorry, yes, I was a bit lazy and just referred to them generically as Battery Revivers, rather than specifically as Battery Super Revivers.
I shall be more careful in future.
