Load Test for Gen1

Have several NiMH batteries that charge , but only power Gen1 Seg a few feet till slight incline, when I encounter Red shutdown. Does anyone know how to put the battery under a Load condition, out of the Seg, in order to test battery to determin how strong it is?

You could wire a 100 watt light bulb to the battery terminals, measure the current draw it uses and then multiply that by the number of hours until the light goes out. That would enable you to do a rough calculation of how many watt hours of capacity the battery has. The current draw will decrease as the bulb dims - You might want to check it several times

It sounds like your Seg is telling you that battery doesn't have much left in it's tank
