Hmmmm..... Now what might have caused a Segway to "suddenly reverse and spin wildly" as alledged in the complaint? What might the seg have experienced and reacted to, or what might she have inadvertantly done? I'm trying to visualize this event...

Obviously, I can only speculate, but I think one of 4 things happened:

1) the rider was using an early Gen2 (i2) or any Gen1 model that was never recalled and still had the reverse bug, and she somehow managed to carry out the bizarre combination of events required to trigger the bug.

2) the rider has discovered a new bug that no one has ever come across before

3) rider error resulting from either accidental/intentional misuse

4) negligence on the companies part (non-maintained equipment, lack of training or unsafe choice of route).

I am interested to see how this turns out.

My guess is number 3.

Probably rider error.
I highly doubt there's any way for the gen 2's to "reverse wildly" unless it's being Evil Kenievel'd in dirt, gravel or any other slippery surface.
It's unfortunate she was injured, but blaming it on the machine, without any proof, is not going to fly.

Segway will dump the log files and see what happened. I always worry about the press and lawyers. My guess is a trapped wheel or something caused a wheel to come off the ground.

I hope she's OK!
